I teach unique courses that integrate Reiki and elements of Breathwork into a practical framework that enhances the learning of simple methods for energetic and spiritual partnering with patients. These courses involve the use of medical simulators to learn airway management and other invasive procedures with the awareness of human energetics, ergonomics and breath for both the patient and the caregiver. Resuscitation procedures are discussed and practiced, including ventilation and CPR with the full flow of Reiki and Breathwork. Central venous catheterization with ultrasound guidance is taught while attention is brought to the breath of both the caregiver and the patient. I am the director of the clinical clerkship in Anesthesiology at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and use these techniques in my practice of Anesthesiology.
